Neil Grewe - Umpire Supervisor

Neil is in his eighth season as Northwoods League co-Umpire Supervisor. He has also
served as a Northwoods League umpire for parts of the last seven seasons. Neil
has been umpiring for 29 years in the Twin Cities, beginning with high school
games in 1978. His experience also includes college and amateur games umpiring
for the Gopher State Umpires Association for 29 years and for the Northwest
Umpires Association for over a decade. He graduated from the Brinkman-Froemming
Umpire School in 1997. He lists working behind the plate in a 4-1 University of
Michigan victory over UCLA, in 1987, at the Metrodome, a game in which then
future Major Leaguer Jim Abbott pitched for the Wolverines, as his most
memorable umpiring experience. Prior to his current off-season position as
Account Executive in the Minnesota Vikings ticket office, Neil was a business
owner for 23 years. |

Winston Wood - Umpire Supervisor

Winston has been Northwoods League co-Umpire
Supervisor since 2001 and is responsible for
umpire administration, including recruiting and
scheduling. It is his second stint in the
Northwoods League, having served as General
Manager for the Rochester Honkers for three
seasons, beginning with their inaugural season
in 1994. After graduating with a BA in
Psychology and a Minor in Athletic Coaching from
the University of California at Santa Barbara in
1990, Winston began his career in baseball
administration in 1991 as Director of Stadium
Operations for the Bakersfield Dodgers of the
Class A California League. He then served as an
Account Executive for the San Jose Giants of the
California League in 1992 and as Assistant
General Manager for the Northern League's Sioux
Falls Canaries in 1993. Winston left the Honkers
after the 1996 season to earn his MBA from Santa
Clara University. After graduating in 1998, he
spent nearly 10 years in Credit Risk and Finance
with HSBC. He currently works for Target
Financial Services in the Twin Cities.
